SUMMER PROGRAMS
Girls in the Game provides sports, health and leadership programs in partnership with schools, parks and community centers in Chicago, Baltimore and Bloomington. Participants can try a variety of sports like soccer, lacrosse, yoga or volleyball in a friendly, non-competitive environment while also learning about important health and leadership topics like self-advocacy and positive body image. Our programs include after school programs, a summer camp, clinics, one-time programs and teen programs!
Sports & Leadership Summer Camp
"Through Girls in the Game, I learned that when you expose young girls to new ideas, it allows them the opportunity to think for themselves. In doing so, girls gain the courage to act on their own."
The Girls in the Game Sports & Leadership Summer Camp provides a safe, exciting space for girls to get active and learn new leadership skills for four weeks each summer. Daily activities include sports like lacrosse, yoga, dance and basketball, fun guest coaches, learning about health and practicing leadership skills. Other activities include swimming, an end-of-camp talent show, time spent with teen leaders and more. Bus transportation is also included.
Thank you to all those who participated in our 2025 Sports and Leadership Summer Camp! We will announce the dates for 2026 in the spring of 2026.
Summer Squad
“Through Girls in the Game, I have gained experience. All the health, sports and leadership workshops, and interviews I have done have made me more comfortable in my ability to lead and trained me to become more confident, step out of my comfort zone and truly prepare for any future career.”
Summer Squad takes place through Chicago’s One Summer Chicago program. Participants attend Leader to Leader interviews, enjoy workshops with fantastic guest coaches, go on field trips, learn to coach younger participants and so much more! All while earning a stipend for their participation.
Thank you to all those who participated in our 2025 Summer Squad season. The application for 2026 will open back up in spring of 2026.
