Part-Time After School Coach

Are you looking for a purpose-driven role with no weekends and steady time commitment? As an After School coach, you’ll commit 1-3 days a week from 3:00 -6:00 p.m. and be compensated $17 an hour. You'll receive training and you’ll be expected to commit to 10 weeks.

Assist in the instruction of our After School program
Learn and lead the curriculum used for programming up to 30 participants (Grades 3-8th Grade)
Attend coaches’ training meetings and complete weekly progress forms
Organize and maintain program materials and equipment

Experience and enthusiasm to work with youth and adults in a variety of settings and activities
Capacity to engage others from diverse cultures and various sectors of the community
Excellent facilitation, communication and writing skills

Development and Events Manager

Girls in the Game seeks a creative, detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational and communication skills to join our development team as the Development & Events Manager. This role oversees key aspects of the organization’s individual giving efforts, including the Individual Giving program and major gifts strategy, while also playing a leading role in the planning and execution of Girls in the Game’s two largest fundraising events: the Field of Dreams gala and the Chip in for Girls golf outing.
The Development & Events Manager oversees the Chicago Auxiliary Board, Girls in the Game’s young professionals group, supporting members in hosting fundraising events, peer-to-peer campaigns, and friendraiser opportunities throughout the year. In addition, this role provides oversight of the organization’s Charity Race Team, managing communication and engagement with runners fundraising for Girls in the Game both locally through the Chicago Marathon and through international races.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is flexible, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. They should enjoy building relationships with individuals and groups, bring a strong sense of collaboration and humor to their work, and be excited to identify new creative strategies to grow Girls in the Game’s development efforts. Because this is a highly external-facing role, candidates who thrive on engaging new audiences and representing the organization in the community will be especially successful.

Major Events: Field of Dreams Gala and Chip in for Girls Golf Outing Support
Oversee all aspects of planning and execution in collaboration with the Development Director and planning committees, guiding sponsorship and sales and associated marketing benefits.
Assist with overall event coordination, including managing logistics and organizing silent auction items.
Support ongoing communication with the event committee and oversee day of logistics
Ensure event revenue goals are met through strong donor and sponsor engagement.
Develop post-event stewardship strategies to convert participants into ongoing donors.
Individual Giving
Collaborate with the Director of Development and the Development Team to develop and refine solicitation and stewardship materials.
Manage donation data entry in Salesforce, including weekly payout reports and monthly reports from external sources.
Engage donors and potential donors at programming events
Represent Girls in the Game at networking events, community outreach, and media opportunities to raise visibility for the organization.
Management of the Chicago Auxiliary Board
Recruit, onboard and engage Auxiliary Board members from diverse backgrounds and professional industries.
Facilitate bi-monthly meetings, track board financials, and guide overall board engagement.
Provide fundraising training and ongoing support to board members.
Plan and execute two annual events for 60–100 guests and coordinate the Auxiliary Board’s annual March Madness virtual fundraiser.
Develop and maintain relationships with board members’ employers to explore corporate giving, sponsorship, and volunteer engagement opportunities
Charity Race Team
Lead the Charity Race Team program including recruitment and ongoing support of participants in their fundraising efforts
Support team members with online fundraising tools, strategies, and engagement
Coordinate Girls in the Game’s presence at partner races in Chicago and internationally
Partner Events/Cause Marketing
Lead in the planning and scheduling of partner and cause marketing events throughout the year, working with Development Coordinator for execution

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2-3 years of professional fundraising development, or nonprofit event experience preferred, including responsibility for fundraising goals, budgets, or event execution
Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking and donor facing communication
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience with MailChimp, Adobe Suite, Squarespace websites and Salesforce preferred
Ability to quickly learn and independently adopt new technology platforms and tools
Licensing Required
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Verification of degree/credentials
Successful completion of background check and fingerprint clearance

Grants Manager

Girls in the Game is seeking a full-time Grants Manager to oversee and manage all foundation, corporate, and government grants for the organization. Girls in the Game manages a diverse portfolio of foundation, corporate, and government grants totaling approximately $500,000 annually. This role plays a critical part in supporting the organization’s growth by managing the full grants lifecycle, including researching opportunities, writing proposals and reports, ensuring compliance, managing grant records and deadlines, and building strong relationships with funders and grant monitors. This role is ideal for a strong mid-level grants professional who is looking to deepen their experience managing a full grants portfolio, including government grants, while growing into increased leadership and strategic responsibility over time.
The Grants Manager works closely with program staff, finance staff, the Development Director and the Executive Director to ensure grant-funded programs are effectively implemented, documented, and evaluated. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and highly organized professional who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail. This role reports directly to the Executive Director.

Grant Writing & Management
Oversee all grants for Girls in the Game, including foundation, corporate, and government grants
Manage the grants calendar, including proposal and reporting deadlines
Write compelling grant proposals, reports, and supporting materials
Research and explore new grant opportunities to support current programs and organizational growth
Oversee government grants from application through compliance and closeout
Manage monthly and quarterly budget and data reporting requirements for government grants
Work closely with finance and program staff to ensure accurate reporting and reimbursement documentation
Ensure programs staff are in compliance with all grant requirements
Manage grant records and database, staying on top of deadlines and other grant requirements
Stay informed about research and trends related to girls, youth development, sports-based youth development, and nonprofit funding priorities, incorporating relevant information into proposals and reports
Funder & Grantor Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with foundation, corporate, and government funders
Coordinate funder and grant monitor visits to Girls in the Game programs
Oversee funder stewardship efforts to ensure grantors feel informed, appreciated, and connected to the organization’s impact
Serve as a liaison between funders and internal staff as needed
Collaboration & Organizational Support
Work closely with program staff to understand program successes, challenges, and outcomes in order to effectively communicate impact to funders
Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather data, stories, budgets, and evaluation information for proposals and reports
Support organizational evaluation and data collection efforts related to grants and reporting
Assist with additional grant-related projects and organizational priorities as assigned

Qualifications
Commitment to the mission of Girls in the Game
Bachelor’s degree required
At least three years of experience in grant writing, grants management, or nonprofit development
Experience managing government grants, including compliance and reimbursement grants preferred
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Experience working collaboratively across departments
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience with grant databases and data tracking systems preferred
Ability to work independently and take initiative with limited supervision
Licensing Required
