Development and Events Manager

We build confidence: Every girl finds her voice, discovers her strength, and leads with confidence through fun and active sports, health, and leadership programs.

Girls in the Game seeks a creative, detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational and communication skills to join our development team as the Development & Events Manager. This role oversees key aspects of the organization’s individual giving efforts, including the Individual Giving program and major gifts strategy, while also playing a leading role in the planning and execution of Girls in the Game’s two largest fundraising events: the Field of Dreams gala and the Chip in for Girls golf outing.

The Development & Events Manager oversees the Chicago Auxiliary Board, Girls in the Game’s young professionals group, supporting members in hosting fundraising events, peer-to-peer campaigns, and friendraiser opportunities throughout the year. In addition, this role provides oversight of the organization’s Charity Race Team, managing communication and engagement with runners fundraising for Girls in the Game both locally through the Chicago Marathon and through international races.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is flexible, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. They should enjoy building relationships with individuals and groups, bring a strong sense of collaboration and humor to their work, and be excited to identify new creative strategies to grow Girls in the Game’s development efforts. Because this is a highly external-facing role, candidates who thrive on engaging new audiences and representing the organization in the community will be especially successful.

This role is ideal for a strong mid-level grants professional who is looking to deepen their experience managing a full grants portfolio, including government grants, while growing into increased leadership and strategic responsibility over time.

The Grants Manager works closely with program staff, finance staff, the Development Director and the Executive Director to ensure grant-funded programs are effectively implemented, documented, and evaluated. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and highly organized professional who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
