Former Board Chair of Girls in the Game, Barbara Rose, passed away over the weekend and Girls in the Game joins Barbara’s family and friends, as well as the many people and organizations lucky enough to know her, in expressing our deep sorrow at her passing.

At Girls in the Game we empower girls to use their voices. We teach them to lead with confidence and recognize that they have the ability to affect change in their own lives, and in their communities. We know that girls can change the world, and our programs strive to show them that they should. It’s not hard to see why Barbara joined our cause.

Barbara Rose exemplifies everything we want for girls and Girls in the Game was lucky to have her on our team. Throughout her life, Barbara worked to make a difference. She fought tirelessly for women, girls and children. She not only recognized injustice but worked to solve it.  She lived her life very deliberately and filled her time with causes that mattered to her, and mattered to so many other people.

Girls in the Game was lucky to have her on our team. We were lucky to have her as our leader and we are a stronger organization because of her. Rest in peace Barbara.
