race teams.

Race for yourself. Race for her.

Running with TEAM GIG helps raise money for Girls in the Game.

Every $500 helps provide year-round
Girls in the Game programming for one girl!

IMPORTANT: AFTER THE CLOSE OF OPEN REGISTRATION, YOU MUST E-MAIL JENIKA AT TEAMGIG@GIRLSINTHEGAME.ORG FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

How to register with TEAM GIG:

Because the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is now closed, you must contact Jenika Faes at Jenika@girlsinthegame.org to get registered with our team for an alternate registration process.

Our mission is to provide and promote sports & fitness opportunities, nutrition & health education and leadership development to enhance the overall health and well-being of all girls.

Last year, Girls in the Game's TEAM GIG raised over $44,000 as an offical Affiliated Charity with the Chicago Marathon helping approximately 90 girls to get in the game!

This year, we are proud to announce TEAM GIG's acceptance as an offical Participating Charity of
The 2008 Bank of America Chicago marathon!

The goal of TEAM GIG is to build awareness and support of Girls in the Game, through raising funds and promoting active and healthy lifestyles.

Whether it's your first marathon, or you've run so many you've lost count--TEAM GIG can offer a very rewarding experience!

TEAM GIG Requirements:

Supporters running with TEAM GIG are asked to raise a minimum of $500, which could provide a year of Girls in the Game programming to one girl. Our total TEAM GIG fundraising goal is $45,000--which could bring our innovative, engaging, and effective after school programming to four different schools or parks in Chicago!

We are committed to helping you reach your fundraising goals. All runners will be guided through developing an individualized fundraising plan by our development team at our fundraising clinic, or by appointment if needed. Also, every runner will be given a fundraising guide full of beginner to advanced strategies and ideas, and will receive a free web-based fundraising page through Active.com.

Pre-race "Sole Food" Pasta Dinner

In September, up and coming chefs from the Robert Morris College of Culinary Arts researched food to best prepare marathoners for race day and then competed to design the best pasta entre for marathon runners. The top three winners of that competition participated in the Sole Food cook-off, were judged by a special panel of celebrity judges including: Lori Healey, Chief of Staff to Mayor Daley; Saran Dunmore of the NBC5 Fitness Team; Keith James,Executive Chef of Marina Café and a Robert Morris College alum; and girls from the Girls in the Game Youth Triathlon Team.

The chefs and students from the French Pastry School prepared special delicacies for the runners, including baked breads, homemade candies and an array of pastries and desserts to satisfy the sweet tooth of all the runners. Salad was provided by La Luce restaurant and drinks were donated by PepsiCo.

Robert Morris College – A special thanks to The Culinary Institute and Chef Laura Vaughn, and all student participants for the complimentary use of space, home-baked cookies, and all the time, effort, and planning for this very special event!
