League of Chicago and Girls in the Game have formed a new partnership
to help girls learn the importance and fun of smart eating. Their new
initiative "Girls get Gourmet" will be a three year initiative where
girls will come together with their female caregivers to cook together,
sample healthy recipes, and to share these healthy strategies with the
rest of their families. |
| The
Girls Advisory Board Interviews Judge Nancy Katz and her Deputy-sheriff
Kimberly Spight Walker, and learn all about leadership. |
| Dove model, Stacy Nadeau visited Girls in the Game and the girls were able to ask questions about the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, and discuss what is real beauty to them.

The two-fold purpose of Girls in the Game (GIG) is to:1) ensure that quality fitness, health and leadership programming is made available to girls, and
2) reduce the barriers that young girls face in accessing such programs.
Since inception, GIG has reached over 13,000 girls through direct service, and thousands more through advocacy and resource materials. The fitness and leadership programs designed by Girls in the Game empower girls to make better decisions with regard to their overall health. Please read and learn more about our current programs. Beyond the programs listed on our website, Girls in the Game can design a sports, fitness, health and/or educational program to meet the needs of your specific group. To discuss opportunities for a program in your community, please contact Girls in the Game at 312.633.(GAME) 4263.
