Spring Training

Girls in the Game has been helping girls grow up healthy since 1995, and we've gotten really good at it. Every year, 2,500 girls participate in our programs, but many more need a place like Girls in the Game where they can play sports, learn about health and become leaders in a fun, girls-only environment. There are already lots of schools, parks and youth centers all over Chicago. They have the space, the staff and the equipment. They just need to know how to reach girls.

That's where Spring Training comes in. Spring Training is Girls in the Game's new program that gives qualified youth service professionals the tools and training they need to run a Girls in the Game program at their school, park or youth center. Why reinvent the wheel? Our programs are proven to work, and we want all the girls who need Girls in the Game to experience it.

Spring Training will offer youth-service providers:
  • online access to our After School Elementary curriculum (in English and Spanish)
  • training on effective curriculum instruction
  • a best practices manual
  • three months of technical support
  • professional development
  • customized follow-up

If you’re not quite ready for Spring Training, Girls in the Game also offers one-day workshops for interested organizations. Topics include implementation of sports programming for girls, and nutrition and health education.
