Staff
Girls in the Game ensures that staff members reflect the girls enrolled in our programs. The staff is comprised of 12 full-time professionals and 17 part-time employees from diverse experiences and backgrounds, working together to grow the organization.

Amy Skeen, MSW, LCSW, Executive Director, holds her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Amy has fifteen years of experience in nonprofit program operations, specifically working with youth and families. She earned a Type 73 certificate that qualifies her to provide social work services to children with special needs in a school setting. Amy has received numerous awards for her leadership including One of Chicago’s Top Women Making a Difference for Girls, (Women Employed 2008). |

Sandi Caldrone, Business Director, holds her Master’s Degree in Anthropology and Women’s Studies from Northern Illinois University. Sandi is personally committed to advancing the health and well-being of women and girls, and has five years’ experience leading women’s activist organizations. Prior to joining the Girls in the Game team, Sandi worked as a teaching assistant at the university level for three years and taught English in Japan. |

Meghan Morgan, Development Director, earned her Bachelor’s of Arts at the University of Notre Dame. After graduating, she spent a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, which solidified her desire to commit herself to working in the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining Girls in the Game, she worked as the Development Manager for the Elks National Foundation. |

Monique Turner, Programs Director, holds a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership/School Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University. Prior to joining Girls in the Game, Monique led programs at the Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Schools. Monique is passionate about coordinating healthy lifestyle programs for girls because girls who are physically active are more likely to be successful in and out of school. |

Casey Allen, Development Coordinator, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She quickly found a passion for the non-profit sector after serving a year with AmeriCorps. Through her own experiences as an athlete, she has felt the impact sports can have on leadership, teamwork and nutrition. Casey is passionate about giving other girls the opportunity to build their own self-confidence and to lead healthy lifestyles. |

Katie Darr, MSW, Development Coordinator, earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Katie became passionate about health after spending a year of service with the National AIDS Fund Americorps program, and specifically concerned about the health of girls while interning at Girls in the Game. She is committed to healthy living and a fervent believer that all girls should have access to healthy lifestyle programming that encourages them to develop into strong, successful young women. |

Elizabeth Okey, Camps and Clinics Manager, earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Human Development and Social Relations, with concentrations in Political Science and Women’s Studies from Kalamazoo College. A collegiate volleyball player, she has experience as a leader in athletics. As a coach and volunteer Elizabeth has years of experience working with youth. When not with Girls in the Game Elizabeth plays professional women’s tackle football for the Chicago Force. |

Kristi Skala, MS, Training and Evaluation Manager, holds her Masters in School and College Health Programs from Indiana University. Kristi is passionate about health education for youth, especially knowing the impact sports and living a healthy lifestyle had on her growing up. Upon graduating from her Master’s program she became the Curriculum Developer for the Physical Education Walk Across Illinois School Fitness Program. |

Erin Starkey, MSW, Teen Services Manager, holds her Master’s in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago and her Bachelor’s of Arts in American Cultural Studies from Western Washington University. Her personal commitment to the importance of a healthy lifestyle/ fitness and her travel experience have solidified her desire to advocate for the basic health and human rights of women and girls worldwide. |

Rebecca Tolmach, After School at Union Park and Girls’ Advisory Board Intern, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Earlham College while running Cross Country and Track. Her summer experiences at an all-girls camp and years of running and playing soccer have fueled her ambition to join the Girls in the Game team, where she is committed to helping girls grow up confident and strong. |

Caitlin Kelley, Volunteer Coordinator, earned Bachelor of Arts in English from California Polytechnic State University. Through her youth athletic experiences in swimming and running, Caitlin discovered that education in health and fitness is among the best routes to female empowerment. Caitlin is passionate about helping girls find their own inner strength and confidence. |

Ann Koller, Program Specialist for After School Elementary, received her BA in History and French from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University in Minnesota. As a collegiate swimmer who grew up spending all day outside, Ann thrives on being active and outdoors as much as possible. A passion for providing opportunities for women and youth, as well as an interest in health/wellness and leadership development, has led her to follow career paths that support these ideals. |

Madeline Wilk, After School Program Specialist, earned her Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from Ball State University with a minor in Spanish. She worked with various children's programs for three years through the YMCA before coming to Girls in the Game and has coached youth basketball and volleyball. Madeline believes that playing sports, learning healthy behaviors, and being part of a supportive team can give girls the tools they need on their journey to becoming strong adults.
