Teen Club

Girls in the Game Chicago Teen Club
The Girls in the Game Teen Club is open to middle school girls and emphasizes peer education and fitness activities.

To ensure programming is relevant and engaging, physical activity curriculum includes sports that girls express interest in such as basketball, and fitness activities like rhythm and dance.

Girls at each program site choose a peer education topic (e.g. healthy eating, resisting peer pressure, or respecting diversity) and a communication method (e.g. posters or a workshop), plan their project and share their completed product with their communities. Girls learn to transform an idea into a larger action, have ownership over their program, and develop their voices as young leaders.

Girls in the Game offers the Teen Club program during or after school to best accommodate the busy schedules of teenage girls!

The following schools are participating in the Teen Club program this year:
  • Amundsen Park
  • Howe
  • Kidz Express
  • Marquette Elementary
  • Perspectives Charter School-Calumet
  • Perspectives High School-South Loop
  • Reavis Elementary
  • San Miguel Middle School
  • St. Procopius
  • Victor Herbert Elementary
