Girls in the Game welcomes girls of all backgrounds, including race, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, ability and socio-economics. Our programming is designed to CELEBRATE these differences.

Believing that all girls deserve the chance to participate in and receive the benefits associated with sports and fitness opportunities, Girls in the Game has no geographical or economic eligibility requirements, although the vast majority of girls reside in disadvantaged or underserved communities. The population served is diverse racially, economically, geographically and by physical-ability. The current demographics of girls served are:

Socio-economic

• 85% of families have income below the poverty level

• 15% have income above the poverty level

Age

• 59% are between the ages of 7-11

• 41% are between the ages of 12-18

Race/ethnicity

• 47% are African-American

• 38% are Latina

• 6% are Caucasian

• 4% are Asian

• 5% identify as “Other”
